Develop a simulator and multiple strategies for the dice game Hog using control statements and higher-order functions
Built a text editor from scratch using JavaFX. I designed classes to handle key events, mouse events, command line arguments, window resizing and the scroll bar and rendering.
Creating a visualization of restaurant ratings using machine learning and the Yelp academic dataset. In this visualization, Berkeley is segmented into regions, where each region is shaded by the predicted rating of the closest restaurant using a is a Voronoi diagram.
Worked with real-world mapping data to create a web mapping application. I wrote the back end - the web server that powers the API that the front end makes requests to. Performed rastering, routing and graph traversals to find suggest navigation
To create a tower defense game called Ants Vs. SomeBees using functional and object-oriented programming paradigms. The ants must protect their queen from the evil bees that invade the ant territory. This game is inspired by PopCap Games' Plants Vs. Zombies.
You may have heard of the Enigma machines that Germany used during World War II to encrypt its military communications. I built a simulator for a generalized version of this machine (which itself had several different versions.) My program took descriptions of possible initial configurations of the machine and messages to encode or decode
Planetary orbit for high school Science classes in Zimbabwe. This will enable students to understand and develop a passion for technology.
Ataxx is a two-person game played with red and blue pieces on a 7-by-7 board. Designed and wrote the entire game for 2 players. I also used the Min-Max Algorithm to write the AI which is able to find a forced win that is within five moves of a given position. I employed Alpha Beta Pruning to improve execution time. AI had a 83.4 % win rate against 1200 fellow student AIs.
Wrote a library package to provide facilities for manipulating graphs, plus two clients that use the package. The clients were The Trip Client, an application of A* search, and a Make Build Automation Tool for interpreting the set of directives in a Makefile
